Position Summary:

 

The Project Manager is expected to provide oversight and general management for 1-2 projects (number may vary depending on size and complexity of projects) in an assigned practice area within a Technical Division, with an expected LOE of 60% in project management. The Project Manager is expected to spend approximately 25-30% LOE for business development (BD) initiatives. BD roles may include serving as a contributing writer for technical sections; serving as a Capture Manager including travel to the field; providing pricing support; managing partner relationships; or other increasingly complex roles. The Manager will travel to the field as necessary to support field operations and initiatives.

 

The Project Manager will simultaneously pursue a chosen career track at Creative and will work proactively with his/her manager to develop competencies within that career track.

 

Reporting & Supervision:

 

Project Managers report to a Project Director or Practice Area Director.  Project Managers may supervise 1-2 junior level project management staff.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing project financial projections and reviews of vouchers
  • Drafting realignments and pipelines
  • Serves as the primary POC for client/donor on routine matters such as deliverables, accruals, and pipelines
  • Drafting requests for client approval (modifications, key personnel, technical scope of work changes)
  • Reviewing and approving at Creative’s Direct Authorities Matrix (DAM) threshold
  • Recruiting of project key personnel replacements
  • Serving in acting capacity in the field for operational or technical positions
  • Ensuring compliance with Creative and client systems
  • Securing STTA for project as needed
  • Knowledge of client/donor and Creative rules and regs
  • Reviewing final deliverables for compliance and completion
  • Conducting project performance monitoring against performance indicators including subs
  • Serving as a coach and mentor for direct reports
  • Supporting business development initiatives, including capture work and live bid development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant work experience. Previous experience managing USG funded programs or portfolio of projects valued at least $5 million/year
  • Demonstrated overseas experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office, with experience in Excel.
  • Willingness to travel up to 8 weeks per year.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to clearly distill and communicate complex concepts and information
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
  • French language skills required

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:  

  • Additional experience with a non-USG international donor a plus.

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $69,000 to $86,500
